Most people on Ngozi are honest. These habits protect you from the few who aren't.
For buyers
- Meet in a public place, in daylight. Bring someone with you for high-value items.
- Inspect the item before you pay. Test phones, start cars, check documents.
- Never pay a deposit or “delivery fee” to someone you haven't met.
- For property, don't pay inspection or agency fees before you've seen the place and verified the agent.
For sellers
- Confirm payment has landed in your account before handing over the item. Fake transfer alerts are common.
- Don't share OTPs, BVN or bank PINs with anyone.
For everyone
- Keep chats on Ngozi so there's a record.
- Look for the “Photo verified” badge and read the seller's ratings.
- If something feels wrong, tap “Report ad”. Three reports hide an ad until our team checks it.
